The Pen & Pencil Club will hold its annual election for the nine-member Board of Governors on Monday, Feb. 13, 2012. The ballot box will be open for submissions from 7 pm to 9 pm. The annual club meeting will begin promptly at 9 pm. Active members must be present to vote in the election.
Active club members may nominate candidates for the board of governors, run for the board and vote in the election. Active status is defined in the club’s bylaws as: Active members shall be professional editors, writers, reporters, photographers and other journalists actively involved in the collection and dissemination of news. Associate members are not eligible to enter nominations, run for the Board of Governors or vote in the election.
According to the club’s bylaws, the deadline for nominations for the club election is 5 p.m., Monday, Jan. 30. Nominations may be dropped off at the club or mailed there — P&P Election, care of Secretary Stu Bykofsky, 1522 Latimer Street, Philadelphia, PA, 19102. They can also be mailed to bykofss@phillynews.com.
