One of the most memorable columnists to ever work in Philadelphia, Steve Lopez, will be dropping by the Pen & Pencil Club on Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. for a “hangout”.
There will be no formal program; just an opportunity for members to chat with Lopez, a best-selling author and novelist who has worked at the Los Angeles Times since 2001.
Lopez was an Inquirer columnist for 12 years.
Lopez has won the H.L. Mencken and Ernie Pyle awards for his writing, He was also a Pulitzer Prize finalist for his work on elder care and his father’s declining health.
His novel Third and Indiana is set in Philadelphia.
