The Pen & Pencil Club will conduct its annual election and Annual General Meeting on Monday, Feb. 13.
The election will elect four officers — President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer — and five Governors. Only active members current on their dues may stand for office and vote in the election. Active members interested in running for any of the offices should notify Club President Brad Wilson by January 25. Email Wilson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We would encourage candidates to submit a brief, Twitter-length statement (or slightly more) as to why they wish to be a P&P officer, but this is not required. The statements will be available at the election for voters to read.
The election will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 13. Results will be announced as soon as possible afterwards.
The annual general meeting will follow. ANY club member — active and associate –may attend the meeting and address the board on issues of concern. We encourage attendance and participation. Please d0n’t be intimidated or bashful!
At the meeting the Board will present new By-Laws for the Club, and these need to be approved by the Meeting by a vote of the active members. These new by-laws will be posted at the Club shortly., This is an important matter and we encourage members to inform themselves and contribute to the discussion.
