In Conversation at the P&P: The Future Of Journalism

As The Pen & Pencil Club celebrates its 125th anniversary year, we’ve arranged a panel discussion to talk about the future of journalism in Philadelphia and beyond. How have social media, 24 hour news cycles, and the current administration changed the game? What are the challenges we face? What do we see happening to print, radio, and online news?

We have assembled an outstanding panel for discussion, hosted by P&P Governor and Fresh Air with Terry Gross associate producer of digital media Molly Seavy-Nesper.

This conversation will take place on Wednesday, March 7 at 8 p.m. at the club. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the kitchen will be open so come early for a good seat, a meal, and a stiff cocktail. Active members can bring 1 non-member guest.

Meet our panel:

Cassie Owens is a modern life reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Daily News. On her beat, she covers culture and trends around the city and region. Cassie is a native Philadelphian and Brown University alumna.

Now as Assistant News Director, Katie helps plan and edit WHYY’s coverage, including daily news, features and special projects.
