Coming up at the P & P
Off the Record sessions begin at 7:30 p.m. unless noted
Thursday, Aug. 19 -- Wine Tasting
Join P&P board member and wine enthusiast Brad Wilson for the next in the series of wine tastings at the club as we explore wines made from the exotic and floral white grape Gewurztraminer.
Cost is $30 and includes appetizers. Sign up at the bar or call the club.

Thursday, Aug. 26 -- Painted Bride Quarterly StorySlam!
Come out and celebrate Women's Equality Day, the 90th anniversary of the 19th amendment!!!
The Pen and Pencil Club will become "Suffragette City" (a-la-Bowie) for one night only. Join us as we toast to Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Amelia Jenks Bloomer (who we can thank for some serious progress in ladies' fashion).
Come prepared for the final round with prose or poetry you write in advance, using the words "mellow," "ticket," and "squeeze". Bring $1 bills for a possible poker round.
Our special guest poet will be PBQ's own Shafer Hall. Hall is a senior poetry editor for PBQ, a poetry curator and host for the Frequency Reading Series, and a poetry bartender for poets in New York, but mostly he's a poetry writer from Texas who loves to write poetry. His poems and collaborations have appeared in the Indiana Review, Eyeshot.net, Unpleasant Event Schedule, and many other journals. He is currently working on "NoTell Ro*Tel," an epic poem detailing his devotion to Reb Livingston and to canned tomatoes.
