About this event
Poetry@P&P is Back! The next reading will be on Sunday, April 13 at 8 p.m. and will feature Pat Rodgers, Massimo Elijah, and Lester Mobley. After the featured readers, Bob Zell will host an open mic.
Pat Rodgers is a former science teacher, current dental student, and poet based in West Philadelphia. His work can be found in Neptune, Voicemail Poems, and several Moonstone Poetry anthologies. His first chapbook is entitled Recall.
Massimo Elijah is a spoken word artist and Philly native. He is thankful to be among so many people doing beautiful and positive things and hopes his poetry encourages that.
Lester Mobley was born on Long Island, New York, before moving to Philadelphia at the age of 18 where has remained ever since. He is a retired union building tradesman who has dabbled on and off with poetry since elementary school.
His favorite poets whom he reveres and attempts to emulate are Charles Bukowski, who he describes as being urban, seamy and modern, and the innovative groundbreaking poetry and prose at that time of Walt Whitman, with everyone else of note being respectfully peripheral.
No need to register at all for this event. Just come as you are, and if you are so inclined, bring your best verse with you.
